Dr. Oz is to product sales what Oprah was to book sales! That man mentions an ingredient and any product that contains it literally flies off of store shelves. While this is certainly a boom to sales of nutritional supplements, there can also be a downside and that is what I would like to warn you about!

I spend a lot of time in various natural products stores and I assure you that there are products touting "as seen on Dr Oz" that weren't really "ON" the show but rather an ingredient in the product may have been mentioned and not necessarily by Dr Oz and certainly NOT as an endorsement to take it! I don't think Dr. Oz was endorsing the HCG diet when it was discussed and debated on his show but rather he was bringing the pros/cons into light and educating his viewers so that they would be better informed and able to make decisions with full knowledge of the good/bad.

I first met Dr. Oz back in 2005 when he was still on Discovery Health channel and not the household name that he has become, I met him while covering the ABCNews Time Magazine Obesity Summitt. Since then I have had the honor of interviewing him, being a guest on his Oprah & Friends XM radio program and garnering a quote of praise from him for me/my book, The Vice Busting Diet and serving as a Special Ambassador for HealthCorp–not an official gig but a "friend" of his cause, I try to raise money and promote it when ever I can (have college students? This is like the Peace Corp only healthier and helping end obesity! Get them to serve!!). This can assure you that I have had dozens of exchanges with him regarding products he has mentioned. I used to write for eDiets.com and everytime Dr. Oz would mention ANYTHING on his Oprah appearances, my inbox would be flooded with "I saw an ad that said Dr. Oz said to take ___", I would respond most often by saying, no…he mentioned the benefits of it, or discussed the possible benefits. Once in a while I would send him a few of the questions and everytime, the response came back from him as I expected; frustration that the products/ads seized upon his statement and were using it as an implied endorsement–which was never his intention. Actually, to the best of my knowledge Dr. Oz has never 'endorsed' a product or supplement.

With that said, atleast 4 times this season, Dr. Oz has talked about FIBER and the need for it on his show. He has said that glucomannan or konjac offers a huge amount of fiber and can help create the feeling of fullness/satiety, decrease appetite and stabilize blood sugar. He's right, it can and does a good job. It's ONE of the ingredients in PGX. Konjac by itself is one of the most viscous fibers there is (expands, fills w/ water, slows digestion) but by itself, it can't even compete in the same arena as PGX. When konjac/glucomannan, sodium alganate and xantham(SP?) where blended together, they formed a novel complex called PolyGlycoPlex, PGX. It's patent pending and any of the three fibers used to create the blend cannot and will not do independentlly what PGX does. It is the most viscous fiber on Earth and the science behind it proves it promotes healthful weight loss, keeps the feeling of satiety for hours after the meal and stablizes healthy blood sugar levels.

Dr. Oz did say on air, TAKE PGX! He said this after the renown Dr. John Grey was on the show and used PGX granuales in his "Marriage Saving Shake". You are going to see a lot of products available that are ONE of the fibers in PGX saying that they can do what PGX does and quite simply put, that just isn't so. That is like saying a Pacer is just as good as a Ferrari. While both are cars and will get you from point A to point B, one will get you there much faster and efficiently while the other just wants to be a Ferrari and do what a Ferrari can do–but wanting isn't the same as being! PGX is what it is and does what it does!

Accept no substitutes, do not accept less than the best when it comes to what you are going to invest in and injest! You buy supplements to get the desired health improvememt that they offer. PGX has strong science behind it, check it out at www.PGX.com and while you are there, download my entire 26-week weight loss/lifestyle change program for FREE courtesy of the makers of PGX. While they know PGX will change your life, even if you don't….they still want you to change your actions, your choices and your lifestyle so that you not only lose weight but do so in a manner that will best enable you to keep it off and that is by doing the long term lifestyle changes that are paramount to successful weight loss and maintenance of it.

Afterall, when I met Dr. Oz, he as on a forum panel discussion w/ every top name in the weight loss industry and for ONE hour, they didn't agree on ANYTHING about how to lose weight and end obesity. The Atkins Foundation head and Dr. Dean Ornish almost went fist-to-cuffs over there differences of opinion of HOW we need to eat to end obesity. But the ONE thing all of the esteemed panel members agreed upon was "what's missing from lasting weight loss?"; they ALL said "LASTING lifestyle change!"

Now, go bust your vices before they bust you! and taking PGX doesn't make you weight loss happen over night, but it helps make sure it happens and makes it easier for you to adhere to the changes you must make!
