The diet industry continually says that you can eat WHATEVER you want and still lose weight, that “everything in moderation” is just fine.
The diet industry also leads you to believe that once you realize the magic desired number on the scale that you may then revert back to you old ways and resume life as normal.
Your “NORMAL”, and to be fair what has become normal for all of society, that is why we are referred to as an “Obesegenic” society now– is what GOT you overweight in the first place! That’s why 98% of people, ALL people who lose weight “ON” a “diet” gain it back within 5 years, and 90% of those gain back MORE than they lost.
I say if you can’t eat ___ in moderation, then it’s YOUR vice and you must abstain or “bust it” IF you want to lose weight. And another shocking truth, you can’t revert back to eating it just because the scale announces you’re “there”. We aren’t so cruel as to tell a smoker ‘just stop smoking till your lungs are clear and then start up again”, we say NEVER. Same with alcholism…”once you’re sober, THEN have only vodka”?! There is no way you can live in the manner that got you overweight or obese AFTER you lose weight and expect to stay thin!
To some that’s outrageous, to others it’s how they have been able to break the yo-yo diet cycle. Be open!
